Grandpa's Meat Marinade
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup diced onions
  • 1 glove garlic, diced
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon curry
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon real mustard
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 quart cold water
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
***Warning*** This marinade will stain and has a strong odor. We highly recommend you use a metal container with a lid. In the pan you are going to use to marinate in, simmer oil, onions, garlic, thyme, oregano, and curry until onions are brown. Take off the heat. Add ketchup, mustard, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, water, vinegar and lemon juice. Stir. Add meat. Soak covered overnight in the refrigerator if meat is less than 1 inch thick. If greater than 1 inch, soak at for 24 hours.
